Lunchtime seminar: Social Pedagogy

Social Pedagogy is a humanist approach with a long tradition in continental Europe, but relatively new in the UK. It addresses social issues in a broadly educative way, while considering the holistic development of individuals and groups.

Participants will get to know the basics of Social Pedagogy through an interactive session that links theoretical background with a practical approach. The seminar will be held in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to share experiences and thoughts on Social Pedagogy.

Participants will:

• Learn about the history of social pedagogy and its development over time.
• Explore the different values and approaches of social pedagogy.
• Understand some of the core ideas of social pedagogy through short activities.
